Guðrun & Guðrun was established in 2002, founded by director Guðrun Rógvadóttir and designer Guðrun Ludvig after they got in touch to discuss the wasted potential of Faroese wool. Both women from the Faroe Islands, they have been friends and business partners for over twenty years. "On our islands, we have a saying: 'ull er Føroya gull' – wool is Faroese gold. Yet, at the turn of the century, this cherished proverb was fading. Imported goods had taken centre stage, and the value of our native wool was overlooked, leading to it being burned rather than used. United by our shared dismay at this waste, we came together to breathe life back into this tradition, forming the brand you know today."

Drawing inspiration from the serene beauty of their homeland using traditional patterns and motifs along with the Faroese wool that is the firm foundation of the brand, Guðrun & Guðrun create iconic knitwear pieces to be loved and lived in, and passed down for generations to come. 

Our selection combines their most iconic Faroese Wool knits such as the Vón Sweaters with their beautiful raw edge base layers which are made from Organic Wool.

To refresh your knitwear, air it outside instead of washing, as natural wool resists odours and a quick mist with clean water and hanging in fresh air is often all it needs.

Spot wash when needed and hand wash when necessary. Use lukewarm water with a mild, wool-safe detergent. Never rub, twist, or wring the garment. Rinse with water at the same lukewarm temperature as the main wash to avoid thermal shock and shrinkage. Gently press out excess water by rolling the garment in a clean, dry towel. Lay flat to dry and reshape whilst damp.

Preserve the shape of your knitwear by keeping folded in a drawer or on a shelf rather than hanging.
