About The Brand+-

Blundstone

Blundstone was founded by John Blundstone in 1870 with the idea of creating footwear that could withstand the cobbled city streets, rugged farmland, dance and factory floors of Hobart, Tasmania.

Since the beginning of Blundstone the business has changed but the brand’s ethos remain the same. Blundstone’s commitment to quality and innovation has endured the Great Depression, both world wars, and an ever-changing fashion landscape from the swinging 60’s to 90’s grunge to festival fashion in the 2000s.

The range of kids boots has inspired a new generation of Blundstone wearers to jump puddles on rainy afternoons. Blundstone continues to get inspired by the people who wear their boots.

In the 1060’s the iconic #500 series was born. These boots are true originals. The sole design has evolved over time to incorporate new technology, but the overall design of their distinctive pull-up tab Chelsea boots continue to define the brand.

Today, Blundstone boots are worn and loved around the world by people of all ages for work and play. The brand is still proudly family-owned and and headquartered in Tasmania.

Product Care+-

Give your Blundstones the love they deserve.

Whilst our boots are designed to last, it is vital that you care for them to help prolong their life.

Follow the brand’s tips below to properly care for your Blundstone boots.

Cleaning Leather

  • First, remove any caked on dirt on your boots with a soft bristled brush or damp cloth, and leave your boots to air dry. Please ensure that your boots are away from direct sunlight or any heaters, as they will dry out the leather.
  • Apply leather polish, spray or cream to the leather to help maintain your boots. If you are using a polish for the first time, try it on an inconspicuous area of the boot to check whether it alters the colour or appearance.
  • If using a polish, apply a small amount of leather cleaner to a polishing cloth or brush and rub onto the shoe in circular motions.
  • Wipe away the residue and again leave to dry.

Cleaning the Sole

  • Remove any large pieces of dirt/debris from your boots.
  • Use a stiff nylon brush to clean between the tread to remove any excess dirt. Should dirt remain, soak your boots in a shallow bath/bucket of warm water for two hours.
  • Again, use a stiff nylon brush to remove.
  • Finally, use a damp cloth for an overall clean before allowing to dry naturally.

Extra Tips

  • Never dry your boots by an open fire or artificial heat source, as this will cause the leather to harden, shrink and crack. It can even cause the leather to pull away from the sole. Always dry your boots naturally at room temperature.
  • Always store your boots in a well ventilated, cool place away from sunlight or any heat which will tarnish the leather.
  • You should use a leather conditioner on your boots whenever they need them. If your boots are looking a little scuffed and worn, always remember to use a conditioner.
  • Avoid exposing your boots to chemical contamination. Solvents, strong acids and alkalis will do irreparable damage on leather, whilst commonplace substances like milk and salt are also highly damaging. In the event of exposure, clean the boots immediately.
  • You should only use good quality cleaning substances and ones specific to the material of your boots.

Size Guide

It is important when you choose your next pair of Blundstone that you have everything you need to make the best choice and discover how elements like footbeds and materials impact how your boots will feel.

All feet are different. All brands have different fits.

The Blundstone size is a UK size. All of their boots have the UK size stamped on the bottom of the boot. The brand uses universally standardised measurements for all of their boots.

When you try your new Blundstone boots on here are a few things to be aware of:

There should be roughly 1cm of space from the tip of your toe to the front of the boot. If the front of your foot is touching the boot, they’re too small.

When walking it’s normal for there to be a slight amount of heel lift in the boot.

With repeated use, your Blundstone boots will stretch slightly over the instep, but never stretch lengthwise.

When you try on a new pair of Blundstones make sure you try them on standing, wearing socks that you’d usually wear with boots. It’s important to walk around and get a sense of how they feel.

Try them on a carpeted surface so that the bottom of the boots are protected.

FIND YOUR FIT

The following explains how you can expect different Blundstone Series to fit and feel.

ORIGINALS

The Originals have a firm fitting across the top and toe area and often run true to size. Over time the thick leather will soften and mould to your foot.

KIDS

Kids’ boots have a firm fitting across the top and toe area and often run true to size. Over time the thick leather will soften and mould to your foot. Every pair comes with an extra set of footbeds that can be removed as little feet grow.

When you buy a pair of Blundstones, it’s all in the details. A few of these details are what makes a Blundstone, a Blundstone. Here are a few factors that impact on the fit of your next pair of boots.

HALF-SIZING

Blundstone’s half-sizes go up in width, not length. That’s because their half sizes increase the amount of space over the foot by adding more leather creating a wider fit. So, for those with a wider foot, we suggest you select a half size up. If it’s length you’re after, it’s best to go up a full size.

V-CUT

The V-Cut just under the pull-tab keeps the upper snug and holds its shape. So now you know, when you see a Blundstone V-Cut, you can expect trademark craftsmanship and comfort and a boot that will stand the test of time.

LINING

The un-lined Originals will take a few extra wears until the thick leather softens like butter and moulds to the shape of your foot. Either way, you won’t find a more comfortable boot than a Blundstone.

A great choice!

Sturdy, comfortable and spacious! Sizing is a little tricky as despite being a UK 8 typically a 7 was a tad snug and the 8 is only comfortable with my thickest wool socks… but I’ve decided these will be my “thick wool sock boots” as they are just so, so comfortable and it’s nice to have a pair of boots on and not be reminded of them throughout the day because of how they feel which has often been an issue for me. I highly recommend them and wish I’d bought a pair sooner.
