Plasticana x Méduse
Plasticana was conceived and created by André Ravachol in 1998. Their waterproof footwear styles are very distinctive due to their specific colouring. Made from a blend of Recycled PVC and Hemp waste, the brown speckled colour comes from the sugar content of the hemp fibre. Lightweight and durable, these styles are surprisingly soft and flexible and comfortable to wear.
Help is a plant with a high CO₂ sequestering capacity which is incorporated into the material to reduce its carbon footprint.
In 2008, Ravachol sold the production rights of Plasticana to the Humeau Beaupréau family who currently produce these products under their label Méduse.
Plasticana has become a cult product that is both incredibly practical as well as being seen as a fashion item.
