Apolina’s signature Joni bonnet is updated in ‘cream’ cotton-linen, with statement floral embroidery in the season’s pastel tones to sides and central panels. Featuring contrast ‘dried rose’ binding and neck ties, and a soft, sherpa fleece lining, this beautiful bonnet keeps little heads cosy.

Hand wash recommended.

Measurements are approximate and taken in centimetres with the garment lying flat:

6-12 months. Face opening (top to bottom) is 18.5cm. Neckline (front to back) is 12.5cm.

12-18 months. Face opening (top to bottom) is 19cm. Neckline (front to back) is 13cm.

18-24 months. Face opening (top to bottom) is 20cm. Neckline (front to back) is 13.5cm.

2 years+ Face opening (top to bottom) is 21cm. Neckline (front to back) is 14cm.

Apolina

Apolina was born out of a desire to create a more authentic style, something exciting yet nostalgic; not a passing trend but a modern bohemian range with longevity and a sense of craft.
Apolina is designed in England, but inspired by travel and the natural world.
Traditional handicrafts from many different cultures serve as the starting point for all of their pieces. Scandinavian, Mexican, American and Eastern European folk art particularly inspire the beautiful embroidery designs. Apolina's colour palette looks to unusual colour combinations found in nature. The relaxed silhouettes are designed mindfully to ensure children are comfortable and able to play freely in their clothing as well as ensuring an increased wear-time.
With a focus on highlighting traditional Indian craftsmanship, Apolina works with a small family-owned, and run, Indian manufacturer, who employ equal numbers of women and men (unusual for this industry). Ethical trading and production practices are strictly adhered to and workers are not only paid a fair wage, they are also treated as members of the extended family. India is a country of rich historical craft and embroidery skills are passed down through families.
Each item is unique due to the hand finishing of the garment and styles are produced in limited numbers through 'small batch' production.
The styles are seasonless and have been designed to be layered up or dressed down depending on the weather. With an aim to encourage minimum waste and to help remove the idea of disposability in fashion. Apolina imagine each piece will be passed down to younger siblings and then kept by mothers as a reminder of cherished childhood memories and in the hope of being passed to grandchildren as future heirlooms.

Product Care+-

We strongly recommend hand-washing all garments. Due to the intricate nature of the embroidery, it will be best preserved when carefully hand-washed and hang dried. We know that for busy Mamas hand-washing is not always possible - you are able to put the garments through a delicates machine wash on a cool temperature from time to time, but this will increase the ‘wear’ on the garment. Always separate out strong colours. Do not tumble dry. Safe to iron on a cool setting, taking care of prints and embroideries.

‘Medium’ will span ages 3-5 years
‘Large’ will fit age 5-7
‘Extra Large’ is aimed at 7-8 years.
