Fibre Context: 100% Superwash Merino Wool
Yarn Weight: DK, it’s a 4ply construction.
Materage: Approx 225m per skein
Tension: 3.75 to 4.5mm needle suits this DK yarn - 22 Sts x 28 rows, 10cm swatch sample using 4mm needles.
Each skein: 100g
Many natural dyes are sensitive to varying pH and mineral levels. It is recommended to use a pH neutral soap when washing your yarn and finished garment. Gently wash in cool/warm water and dry garments flat, out of direct sunlight to prevent undue fading.

Elliott and May
Katie May, founder of Elliott and May and mother to Elliott.
As a creative Katie has always created and made things with her hands. When she became a mother she wanted a more grounded state of being and have a more organic approach to her creations.
She started knitting when Elliott was born and found herself unable to stop. She knitted everywhere, home and in public. She ventured into the world of natural dyes, learning her skills from wise and knowledgeable dyers. It is truly special using plants to dye your own fabric. It connects you to earth and it makes you respectful and curious about the materials and processes used.
In the Autumn of 2020, Elliott and May was born. A brand where Katie the owner can share her creations and her love for slow-making with a community of like-minded mothers and people.
The yarn is South American Merino Wool (mulesing free), spun in Peru and naturally hand dyed in the UK.

Many natural dyes are sensitive to varying PH and mineral levels, so it is recommended that a PH neutral soap is used when washing your yarns and finished garment. Gently hand wash in cool water and dry garment flat and out of direct sunlight to prevent undue fading.
It is best to wash wool as little as possible. Wool is self-cleaning. Wool fibres have an extraordinary surface that rejects dirt particles, as well as bad odours and sweat and stops them from entering the fibres. Airing is often enough to remove the dirt particles from the surface and to make the woollen article hygienically clean.
